Employment opportunities for cooks are expected to continue their upward trend. The National Restaurant Association expects restaurant employment alone to increase to 14.3 million by 2022. Part time workers may leave to pursue full time employment elsewhere, and lower paid cooks may seek employment at higher paying establishments.
