Assist the Director in the daily operations of large-scale union hotel's Housekeeping Department. (1700 rooms)
Assist in scheduling, forecasting, hiring and training while maintaining employee morale, productivity and guest satisfaction. Perform regular inspections of the hotel to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards. Coordinate department's activities with other departments to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction.
*Assists director in administration of all hotel housekeeping and general maintenance activities for hotel. * Assures the quality of service for the hotel rooms, public areas and offices. * Solves, rectifies and mediates all guest complaints and contributes to the daily pass-on report. * Works closely with front office staff to ensure rooms are available when needed providing up to date room status reports. * Maintains housekeeping inventory control as it relates to equipment, supplies and uniforms. * Assists in the facilitation of training and developments of all employees to hotel standards. * Leads and directs daily and ongoing efforts of housekeeping management team up to and including employee morning stand ups and individual counseling.
Prior Union labor experience required. (2 years).* College Degree Required (minimum: Associates) * Minimum of three years experience in Housekeeping Management is required. * Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation with a proven track record of balancing both employees and managing the department.
* Results oriented with an emphasis on both operations and administrative. * Experienced in managing NYC labor union employees. * Working knowledge of Opera. * Fluency in a second language: Spanish is preferred.
