We are looking for energetic and experienced Catering Sales professional to join our team at the Four Diamond Bostonian Hotel.

The hotel offers 204 elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites, over 7,000 square feet of dedicated function space for both group and social functions up to 300 people, and houses the renowned North 26 Restaurant & Bar.
Position Profile:
The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for being a self-motivated, high energy, detail-oriented and goal-driven person who is experienced in selling and or servicing a variety of Hotel groups and events, to include business meetings and social events. Strong communication skills are key to coordinate and supervise assigned catering business through completion of the event or function. He/She will act as a liaison between client and operating departments to ensure a successful events while setting the stage to generate repeat business. In addition, this person must be able to work directly with event planners to plan, contract and execute special events within the hotel's various function rooms. This position offers an attractive incentive plan.
Job Description:
•Responsible for proactively selling catering events including but not limited to Corporate Meetings, Association Meetings, Fundraiser, Social Meetings, SMERF, Holiday Parties, Special Events, etc) at a level to meet and/or exceed monthly budgeted requirements.
•Must be self-motivated and outgoing with experience in both corporate and social markets in this extremely busy property.
•Responsible for completing and finalizing BEO’s, and follow up with guest after completion of function.
•Ability to upgrade and upsell menus to achieve food and beverage cost.
•To be profit minded and have the awareness of the forecast and budget in order to help fit business into open
•Work closely with clients to finalize the requirements of bookings on all event details including food and beverage selections, decorations, itinerary, audio visual requirements, and setup by creating a Banquet Event Order (BEO) and a Room Diagram for all events.
•Ensure accuracy of Banquet Checks, work with clients on deposits/final payments and assist in the collection of all overdue balances.
•Ability to make impromptu decisions which balance the client’s needs with the Hotel policies.
•Participate in meetings with Hotel staff including but not limited to Daily Line Ups, Weekly Banquet Event Order Meetings, Site Visits, Planning Meetings, and Menu Tastings.
•Maintain professional relationships with Hotel staff and clients.
•The ideal candidate thrives on a fast-paced environment with a strong drive to excel in sales and event execution.
•Actively prospect, solicit and close new and repeat business.
•Must be independent, self-disciplined, motivated, organized and efficient. Must be prompt and accurate in completion of assigned projects
•Respond to all phone calls, emails and other inquires in a timely manner.
•Maintain follow-up system on all inquiries and personal sales calls.
•Actively and creatively up-sell each catering event to maximize revenue.
•Works directly with the Director of Sales and Marketing, Executive Chef, Director of Operations, and Banquet Captain on a daily basis to coordinate event details.
•Professionally represents Hotel as needed at community events.
•Actively participate in local organizations to maintain awareness within the community.
•Proven sales skills with ability to close deals.
•High level of creativity in customizing all marketing materials and collateral to promote the sale of events.
•Work closely with the Executive Chef on creating custom and innovative menus.
•Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
•Must have own reliable transportation and possess a valid state driver’s license in order to make sales calls
•Ability to hear, speak, read and write English fluently, as well as ability to make oral presentations.
•Required to be in attendance at social events in coordination with banquet team to ensure the event goes as planned.
Employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel and its customers.
Minimum of two years of hotel or local catering sales experience required
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Knowledge of Delphi Sales Booking System preferred.
NACE membership preferred
Valid Drivers License and Travel Required.
Four year college degree preferred
