Scope

Exceed budgeted revenue and goals. 

Perform duties in a creative, team oriented and dynamic fashion while always exemplifying the highest standards in customer service, integrity and work ethics. This position reports directly to the Director of Catering.

 

Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:

Chinese Market

Brewery/Wine/Spirits

Manufacturing

Social Events/Galas

Food & Beverage

Plastics/Rubber

Sports/Recreation

Holiday Parties

Real Estate

Weddings - Chinese

Fund Raising

Wholesalers

Weddings - Western/Other

 

 

  • Respond to all telephone and written inquiries, leads, reservations etc. within 4 hours of generation

  • Secure inbound business leads and inquiries that support the hotel’s objective of maximizing revenue by evaluating client buying potential

  • Execute outside sales efforts to target catering accounts in order to increase all types of catering business for the Hotel

  • Perform sales activities such as outside sales calls, site inspections, entertainment and sales presentations as per weekly sales quotas

  • Maintain and update client database with all sales activities and client information in a timely manner, updated daily, weekly and kept current

  • Promote the Hotel, including both the property and services, while maintaining a high level of personal contacts with clients and providing them with professional advice

  • Prepare proposals and bid on potential business

  • Maximize revenue by effective utilization of Hotel guest rooms and facilities

  • To meet and exceed client expectations to ensure the success of every event

  • Provide Catering Coordinator with relevant information in order to effectively detail Event Orders and Group Resumes. Internal client servicing to be handled by the Catering Coordinator

  • Asses client needs and conduct post event follow-up to address strengths weaknesses of an event and solicit repeat business

  • Written and timely communication is vital to this role.

  • Participate in preparation of annual budget as required

  • Achieve all goals and objectives of the marketing plan and personal monthly sales action plans and prepare daily synopsis as required.

  • To meet and exceed client expectations to ensure the success of every event

  • Immediate communication of priority requests by Senior management and ownership to the GM and RDOSM.

  • Any other job functions as assigned

  • Support the Catering Departmental Goal of SUPER Events

     

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Good command of the English language is essential, both written and verbal

  • Must be neat, professional, personable and well groomed

  • Previous Sales Management experience is a must.

  • Keyboarding skills would be an asset (60 - 70 words per minute)

  • Previous experience with the Hilton brand property management system would be an asset

  • Must be organized and possess strong time management skills

  • Must be attentive to details

  • Must be guest service focused

  • College diploma or University degree from a Hospitality related program would be an asset
