Floor Care Attendant

SUMMARY

The Floor Care Attendant is responsible for cleanliness of floors in resort public areas, guest rooms, offices, restrooms and assisting housekeeping as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Vacuum, sweep, buff, and strip floors. Must be able to use floor equipment such as vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner and buffer.
Clean windows.
Clean all restrooms.
Remove trash from waste containers.
Clean and dust all public areas and back of the house offices and employee areas.
Monitor and maintain designated supply levels.
Maintain and monitor cleanliness of work areas.
Assist housekeeping staff as assigned.
Participate in and support hotel and company efforts towards sustainability and environmental initiatives
Review assignment sheet and update completed assignments. Check with supervisor for additional assignments throughout the shift.
Load/unload linens and supplies in/out of cart following departmental procedures.
Transport linens and supplies from vehicle to designated areas.
Organize and stock all incoming linens in designated areas/shelves.
Monitor and maintain designated supply levels.
Maintain and monitor cleanliness of work areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding
One year prior experience in similar environment and experience using floor care machines for buffing and carpet cleaning.
High school graduate or equivalent vocational training.
Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision
Ability to work cohesively with other departments and co-workers as part of a team
Ability to operate cleaning equipment. Ability to drive a golf cart.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to stand and walk regularly, use hands to finger; handle or feel objects, tools, controls; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl; talk, hear; reach/ push/pull with hands and arms. Occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
