The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston - Houston's first vertical mixed-use, master-planned project combining hotel, office, residential, retail and restaurant offerings all in one tower. The Post Oak Hotel is seeking an experienced Groundskeeper to join our new hotel team. The Groundskeeper will be responsible to perform a wide range of landscaping operations including mowing, pruning and trimming, installation of plant material, care of flowers and bedding plants, small equipment use and safety procedures. Maintain property operations and appearance to the high standards set forth by management that may be required to ensure the quality of service provided to guests and colleagues the highest standard is maintained at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will work under the direction of the Director of Engineering, Assistant Director of Engineering with assistance from the Engineering Manager.
The Groundskeeper is responsible to perform all assigned landscape tasks, including, but not limited to, installation of plant material, care of flowers and bedding plants, trimming and pruning trees.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Display knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in the following categories: fire life, health, safety, carpentry and finish skills, vehicles, energy conservation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb replacement and/or general building.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have minimum of five years hands-on experience working around Landscaping
Knowledge
Having knowledge of or experience with Forbes 5 Star service standards is a plus.
Hotel opening experience preferred.
Licenses or Certificates
Ability to obtain and/or maintain any required licenses, certificates or permits.
