The Sheraton Oklahoma City Downtown Hotel seeks a dynamic and experienced group sales manager to join our award winning sales team This property is considered among one of the top hotels in the Sheraton brand collection. With 396 guest rooms, newly renovated restaurants and outlets and over 20,000 square feet of meeting space, we are the premier hotel in downtown Oklahoma City

Job Overview Responsible for increasing revenue by solicitation of new accounts, maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing accounts, specifically in the market of the downtown Oklahoma City area. Ensuring all revenue goals are achieved or exceeded.

Reports to Director of Sales


Move throughout property to conduct site inspections. Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current and potential clients.

Interview, hire, train, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication and recommend discipline andor termination when appropriate.

Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Coordinate various departments participation in servicing accounts.

Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.

Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel and review competition.

Prepare information for, meet with and entertain clients as deemed appropriate by potential business from that account.

Represent hotel at trade shows. Set up exhibits involving bending, stooping, lifting and reaching overhead.

Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff.

Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.

Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have the ability to communicate in English, can communicate well with guests and co-workers.
Thorough knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact.
Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
Self- starting personality with an even disposition.
Strong interpersonal skills, to assist client needs, negotiate pricing and provide overall guest satisfaction.
Two years prior experience as a Sales Manager, preferably in a full service hotel.

Additional Qualifications
Five years prior experience as a Sales Manager, preferably in a full service hotel
High school diploma along with two years education in an accredited college
Managerial experienceLeadership skills
Strong interpersonal verbal communication skills
Exceptional written communication skills

Physical Demands
Ability to move throughout the hotel to conduct site inspections.
Able to sit for long periods of time.
