Position Description:

This position is for a unique individual who is an industry leader in the direct sales discipline; an executive who possesses qualities of an entrepreneurial self-starter and has a disciplined executive profile. This person will directly oversee the eastern region of the company’s sales organization, while contributing to the overall development of the management enterprise. As a member of the organization’s senior leadership team, the Regional Vice President, Sales and Marketing will create a culture that produces optimal financial results and enables the company to be “the place to work” in the hotel industry.

Principle Responsibilities:

* Create a sales culture that is both competitive and engaging; a culture that facilitates optimal financial results, and one that allows Atrium Hospitality to attract and retain the highest caliber talent in the industry.
* Oversee and lead the direct sales and marketing revenue generation strategies and initiatives across all operating departments for Atrium Hospitality managed properties consistent with the owner’s objectives and brand standards.
* Develop and implement sales systems, strategies, and tactics to improve the financial performance of each asset and the enterprise. Monitor the performance of individual assets against their approved budgets and continuously develop strategies to improve their financial and market share performance.
* Motivate, inspire, challenge, and lead the Regional Vice Presidents, Sales snf Marketing to ensure resources and priorities are in line with the greatest opportunities and the company’s goals, and that the individual property and enterprise level revenue budgets are achieved.
* Build a career development and succession plan within the sales organization that allows sales professionals to grow their career within Atrium Hospitality, keeping them engaged, motivated, and both personally and professionally satisfied.
* Develop and manage a flexible, unique, and rewarding bonus program and sales recognition program that allows Atrium Hospitality to attract and retain the best talent in the industry, to motivate the sales team members to perform at their highest level, and to reward and recognize them fairly for contributing to the financial success of the organization.
* Demonstrate creativity, innovation, and a high level of measurable risk tolerance to meet the demands of the business within the current and forecasted market conditions in the industry.
* Ensure effective and appropriate communication is maintained between the management company, properties, brand partners and owners.
* Possess a strong knowledge of current direct sales, marketing, and sales technology standards and best practices in a property and enterprise environment.
* Possess an expert level understanding of national hotel brand’s sales resources, operating systems, and requirements, as well as 3rd party distribution channel and marketing platforms. Ensures that Atrium Hospitality properties are compliant with brand partners’ marketing and sales standard operating procedures.
* Apply related experience to provide insight into emerging direct sales, technology and business trends within the hospitality field.
* Participate in the development of property and enterprise level Operating Budgets that produce aggressive but achievable goals and objectives that are in line with the expectations of the owner.
* Travel to and participate in individual property, owner, lender and brand performance and strategy development meetings (Travel: 60%). The successful candidate must live within fifty (50) miles of a major airport.

Experience / Skills Required:

* 12+ years of hotel sales and marketing experience.
* 6+ years of regional or enterprise-level sales leadership for a national hotel management company with a diverse brand, asset class, and geographic portfolio profile.
* Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management or related business field preferred. Commensurate experience considered in lieu of a degree.
* Successful track record in the implementation and management of regional or enterprise-wide sales strategies across a diverse brand, asset class and geographic portfolio profile.
