Job Description

Atrium is currently seeking an experienced senior accountant to support the accounting operations of a private equity hospitality investment and management company. The Senior Corporate Accountant will perform portfolio-level accounting responsibilities and will report to the Accounting Manager – Corporate. This position will also work closely with Director of Property Accounting – Corporate and Hospitality Accounting Teams.


1. Review of month-end closing process and product, including reconciliations performed by Hospitality Accounting or third-party providers for completeness and accuracy.

2. Identify appropriate transactions, interpret and apply policies related to other comprehensive basis of accounting principles (Federal Tax).

3. Perform additional account analysis or prepare reconciliations for activities not accounted for at the property level.

4. Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and tax compliance.

5. Communicate with Hospitality Accounting or third-party providers to ensure adjustments are properly executed.

6. Review and reconcile intercompany transactions and accounts.

7. Manage, review and/or prepare accounting for equity transactions and maintain waterfalls for all assigned entities.

8. Prepare audit schedules and support the annual audit process, including appropriate disclosures/footnotes.

9. Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.

10. Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Job Requirements

1. 3 – 5 years of accounting experience, preferably with hospitality, real estate, public accounting or other rigorous financial reporting experience.

2. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related discipline.

3. Federal Tax basis of accounting experience a plus.

4. Experience with Sage 300, AccPac and ProFx desired.

5. Strong computer skills with particular expertise in preparing Word documents and Excel spreadsheets. Proficiency in all other Microsoft Office applications is required, including email and calendaring applications. Must also demonstrate an ability to quickly adapt to new computer programs and software as introduced throughout the organization.

6. Must demonstrate an ability to:

7. Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.

8. Minimal travel is expected.
